Doctor Who S8 sets new ratings record on BBC America

Doctor Who ended 2014 with its highest ratings to date, on BBC America, with an average audience of 2.04 million. That's not too shabby for Peter Capaldi's inaugural series as the titular Time Lord.

The hotly-anticipated Last Christmas garnered 2.31 million viewers. All eager to discover whether or not Clara (Jenna Coleman) would leave the TARDIS? To the relief of many fans (myself included) she decided to stay on for further adventures in time and space...

It's interesting to note audience figures declining in the UK and are in the ascendancy in the US.
