I hope that they will honor the format of the original shows and go more episodic, on classic sci-fi themes of human drama taken to a galactic scale. For me, Star Trek was always about how team work, leadership and liberal values tempered by logic and pragmatism can triumph over the Dark Side (pun intended) of humanity, which shines it's evil light in the form of greed, hubris, envy, arrogance, a lust for power and delusion of grandeur. Some great performances where delivered (albeit a bit camp) by the "bad guys" of the original series. I hope they bring back the character driven baddies, as opposed to universe spanning uber-threats that need a whole season to resolve with a deus-ex plot twist (ugh).
