Hasbro and Robosen have announced Transformers Grimlock Auto-Converting Robot - Flagship Collector's Edition.

G1 Grimlock voice actor Gregg Berger has returned to lend his voice to this auto-converting app-enabled robot, which has been 7 years in the making! Grimlock joins Transformers Robosen Optimus Prime and is available for pre-order on Hasbro Pulse.

12-year-old me would be awestruck unboxing Robosen Grimlock on Christmas Day - technology has progressed since my Tomy Omnibot in the mid-eighties. Due to the cost of living crisis, I won't find Grimlock under the Christmas tree this holiday season.

ReplyDeleteKing of the toys, most definitely. Following on from the amazing Optimus Prime transforming toy comes the mighty Grimlock.
Growing up in the 70/80s, it blows my mind to see toys like this. Big Trak and Armatron were the zenith of our playtimes, no bad thing, but this new breed of toy robots would be munching on their metal (figuratively speaking, as they were plastic).
Clearly the price puts them way beyond the average child, or adult for that matter. But what they demonstrate is how technology trickles down, and that can only be a good thing for future playtimes.
