Doctor Who companion on Children in Need

During today's Childen in Need fundraiser on BBC One, a new companion for Ncuti Gatwa's (Sex Education) Doctor Who will be announced live.

Gatwa takes the helm of the TARDIS console from David Tennant following three specials to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the fan-favourite time traveller in 2023.

Russell T Davies (It's A Sin) is returning showrunner with Disney+ distributing the new series outside the UK and Ireland, where it will remain on the BBC.

Who would you like to see announced as a Doctor Who companion? Let me know in the comments below.

  1. I have no desire to see anyone. I'm more than happy to trust RTD and the rest of the production team to make the right choice. They made the at-the-time controversial decision to cast Billie Piper and she almost immediately silenced the prejudging critics from day one. Catherine Tate did the same. We've had relative unknowns such as Freema Agyeman, Karen Gillan, Mandip Gill and Arthur Darvill alongside known names such as John Bishop and Bradley Walsh. Whether they're a name or an unknown we all know they're in for some amazing adventures.

    1. Agreed! Billie Piper was fantastic, to quote the Doctor!
