Star Wars Outlaws this August

Ubisoft has released an official story trailer for Star Wars Outlaws.

The upcoming single-player open-world Star Wars video game from Massive Entertainment, set between Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, will be released on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC on 30th August.

As much as I'm excited about Star Wars Outlaws, Ubisoft's strategy of paywalling content behind season passes means I won't be playing on day one. As with the excellent Assassin's Creed Odyssey, I'll wait for a post-launch sale.

Are you looking forward to Star Wars Outlaws? What are your thoughts on the story trailer? Let me know in the comments below.

  1. The trailer looks like a Star Wars movie I'd watch but the least impressive thing about it is the protagonist. I don't mean her design, but the facial capture work for her seems so stiff compared to everyone else in this trailer. When compared to some of the best third person action/adventure games out there, I find it comes up short.

Everything else about this trailer is great but it just reminds me of the unreleased Star Wars: 1313.

I agree, it's definitely a wait. I'm not a fan of Ubisoft's pricing, especially charging more for 'early access'. It's been a while since I've played an Ubisoft game and I don't think it'll happen anytime soon.

    1. Like many fans, I was looking forward to Star Wars: 1313!

Ubisoft should take a page out of Larian Studios' playbook. Baldur's Gate 3 is a video game masterclass.
