Disney eyeing Hasbro?

Last week the geek galaxy was ablaze with rabid speculation that Disney may acquire Hasbro!

The Pawtucket-based company holds the key to the Star Wars toy kingdom, which the Mouse House will be eager to acquire prior to the theatrical release of Episode VII in 2014. However, any deal would have a profound effect on the Hollywood studio system!

For example The Clones Wars is moving from Cartoon Network to Disney XD in 2013, following the acquisition of Lucasfilm. Dark Horse Comics will surely lose Star Wars to Marvel and IDW would suffer a similar fate with its stable of Hasbro properties: from G.I. Joe to Transformers.

Imagine if Apple buys Disney and gains unfettered access to all that mouthwatering content?

    1. Thanks for the info, John! It'll be interesting to see if Hasbro distributes the new trilogy's toy line.
