The Book of Boba Fett official trailer

“If you had spoken such insolence to Jabba, he’d have fed you to his menagerie.” Lucasfilm has released the first official trailer for Disney+'s Star Wars live-action spin-off, The Book of Boba Fett.

Read the official synopsis:

""The Book of Boba Fett," a thrilling Star Wars adventure teased in a surprise end-credit sequence following the Season 2 finale of "The Mandalorian," finds legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett and mercenary Fennec Shand navigating the galaxy’s underworld when they return to the sands of Tatooine to stake their claim on the territory once ruled by Jabba the Hutt and his crime syndicate."

Boba Fett captured the imagination of Star Wars fans (myself included) in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. However, the mysterious bounty hunter first appeared in the infamous Star Wars Holiday Special during an animated short (available on Disney+). As I've written previously, my earliest memory of Boba Fett is as a mail-away action figure.

His apparent demise in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi was, erm, anti-climatic. However, there's going to be flashbacks so we may see how he escapes from the Sarlacc pit (my action figure managed it on Exmouth beach in the school summer holidays).

In the trailer, Boba Fett appears far less scarred than he did in The Mandalorian, so must be using a bacta tank to heal.

The Book of Boba Fett, starring Temuera Morrison (Star Wars: Attack of the Clones) as the titular bounty hunter and co-starring Ming-Na Wen (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) as fan-favourite Fennec Shand, premieres exclusively on 29th December on Disney+.
