Tron toys at New York Comic Con

During San Diego Comic Con (SDCC), Hasbro's Steve Evans, senior design director for Marvel and Star Wars, teased Tron toys based on Disney's Tron franchise. Evans handed out 3.5-inch floppy disks, which contained a teaser image.

Fast forward to today. Hasbro has announced a Tron HasLab and 6-inch Tron: Legacy action figures at New York Comic Con (NYCC).

The latest HasLab is Tron: Heroes of the Grid, which features five 3.75-inch action figures based on Tron, Flynn, Yori, Sark, and a Program, two Light Cycles and an LED-lit display stand. The action figure sculpts look amazing, but it shouldn't be a HasLab requiring 10,000 backers and costing £259.99! Granted, a Recognizer or Tank would have been cool! However, in view of current market conditions, I think it's egregious.

I was hoping for a Hasbro Pulse exclusive line of action figures and accessories, as I missed out on the original toy line from Tomy. Even so, I did have fun collecting Tomytronic 3D handheld gaming devices inspired by Tron.

Hasbro 375 is a new line of 3.75-inch action figures inspired by the vintage Kenner Star Wars toys, beginning with Tron: Heroes of the Grid. Perfect for world-building on your desktop, I would like to see Indiana Jones and the Micronauts next.

Coleman Trebor unlocked!

Hasbro's Steve Evans, senior design director for Marvel and Star Wars, posted updated details regarding the Star Wars HasLab The Vintage Collection LAAT/i Gunship campaign.

International retail partners have reported their final backer count, bringing the final tally to 10,541. Therefore, the first tier, Jedi Coleman Trebor, was unlocked.

The news broke following a Geek Meet livestream, where we discussed the latest HasLab with fellow toy collectors. Ryan Speaks Geek hilariously christened Coleman Trebor as Mustard Mint, and this can't be unseen.



This is good news for fans who backed the campaign. I didn't, as I still have an unopened Ghost stored in the garage since last Christmas.

Star Wars HasLab Gunship is backed!

The Star Wars HasLab The Vintage Collection LAAT/i Gunship campaign was backed hours before the 9th September deadline.

Despite a final promotional push by official channels and support from fans (myself included), the centrepiece of Hasbro's Battle of Geonosis campaign for 2026 limped over the finish line without unlocking any of the tiers. The total number of backers was 9,776, just 224 short of unlocking the first tier at 10,000 backers for Coleman Trebor.

The LAAT/i Gunship may have been more successful at a lower price point, and if it had included exclusive variant action figures of Anakin Skywalker, Padmé Amidala, Obi-Wan Kenobi or a Clone Trooper army builder pack.

Gunship announced as Star Wars HasLab

At San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC), Hasbro announced its Battle of Geonosis campaign for 2026 with a Star Wars HasLab.

The Vintage Collection LAAT/i Gunship transports you right to the heart of the first battle of the Clone Wars on Geonosis and its aftermath. In Star Wars: Attack of the Clones™, this speedy attack ship led the rescue mission of the Jedi remaining after Count Dooku and the Separatists’ assault, setting a cascade of rockets and laser fire onto the Separatist droid army.

LAAT/i (Low Altitude Assault Transport/infantry) Republic ships can be seen in epic battles scenes across Star Wars, including the animated classic Star Wars: The Clone Wars™ and its more recent counterpart, Star Wars: The Bad Batch™. The last Gunship toy I owned was from Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, which I sold to a fellow Star Wars fan and collector a few years ago. Like many fans, I have reservations about the £449.99 price tag and tiers.

After pontificating for a few days (The Ghost is still boxed), I’ve decided to back the HasLab for now, if only to support the campaign and reach 8,000 backers. I appreciate that this is a good problem to have. Will it be another Rancor? We'll see in September.

Unboxing Star Wars The Ghost HasLab

The wait is almost over. The Star Wars The Vintage Collection The Ghost HasLab will land under the Christmas trees of backers this holiday. Hasbro Pulse shared an unboxing video by product design manager Chris Reiff.

"For all the dedicated STAR WARS collectors and backers of this incredible HasLab project, this is the unboxing you’ve been waiting for! Join Chris, product design manager, as he takes you through the final production sample of STAR WARS The Vintage Collection The Ghost. In this video, you’ll see everything included with this massive ship—over 28 inches by 34 inches and standing 13 inches tall—the largest STAR WARS ship since Jabba’s Sail Barge.

Chris walks through the detailed assembly process, revealing all the exciting features, like the opening front ramp, removable landing gear, multiple interior panels, and the docking bay for the Phantom II. He also showcases the exclusive STAR WARS Rebels cardback figures—Hera Syndulla, Kanan Jarrus, Ezra Bridger, and Garazeb “Zeb” Orrelios.

I mentioned to Steve Evans, design director for fan product for Marvel and Star Wars, how it evoked the magic of unwrapping Star Wars toys on Christmas morning. Evans and his Star Wars team at Hasbro wanted to recapture that nostalgic feeling of unboxing an AT-AT or the Millennium Falcon. They've achieved that goal with aplomb.

HasLab takes to the sky with Cobra Rattler

Hasbro announced the G.I. Classified Series Cobra Rattler Ground Attack Jet HasLab campaign during Thursday's G.I. Joe panel at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC).

Here's the official word from Cobra:

"Your antissssipation is finally over! The Cobra Airborne is readying for launch but needs your assistance to fund its crowning achievement of aviation ingenuity. M.A.R.S. Industries, in concert with HasLab, has developed a 6-inch scale G.I. Joe Classified Series Cobra Rattler Ground Attack Jet. In order to initiate our takeoff sequence, we are in need of 9,000 backer orders by the end of the Campaign. For each HasLab vehicle you pledge, you’ll receive a Cobra Rattler jet along with an action figure of Flight Commander Wild Weasel featuring premium deco, detailing, and articulation for poseability."

The Cobra Rattler with Wild Weasel action figure looks amazing and, as I never owned the original fan-favourite toy, I've already backed it. The folding wings and included flight stand will make it easier to display.

The only fly in the ointment is the first tier at 11,000 backers! It's a set of Cobra Airborne Squadron patches, which should have been an action figure (Destro?). More so given the HasLab campaign is £324.99 in a cost of living crisis. The Cobra H.I.S.S. HasLab was £299.99 with 4 action figures. 14,000 backers unlocks a Cobra Rattler Gunner action figure and 18,000 backers unlocks the pilot Baroness action figure.

Hopefully, Hasbro will respond to fans' (myself included) concerns on social media. How about an early bird SDCC exclusive tier?

Given the number of backers needed, the latest G.I. Joe HasLab should be fully funded this weekend.

Star Wars HasLab Mos Eisley Cantina

"Mos Eisley spaceport. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious."

On Friday, Hasbro officially announced the next Star Wars HasLab during a Fanstream. For months, fans (myself included) speculated what it would be, and Hasbro accidentally confirmed it a few weeks ago.



Return to Tatooine. Inspired by Star Wars: A New Hope, this HasLab celebrates an iconic part of Star Wars history and brings the Mos Eisley cantina to life, featuring a fully modular, interchangeable design for £399.99. Wuher and the Tonnika sisters are included with the base offering, and Greedo, Nabrun Leids and Arleil Schous are the three stretch goals.

Fans wanting to expand the cantina further can back the deluxe version featuring an extra wall, booths and furniture for £499.99.

Calling back to the original 1970s and 1980s Star Wars collectables, this offering features Kenner branding and package design for a nostalgic display. Like many fans, I wanted the classic cantina playset for my Hammerhead, Snaggletooth, Walrus Man and Greedo action figures.

This project needs 8,000 backers to begin production and will run from 7th June, 2024, until 8th July, 2024 at 11:59PM ET. If successful, the project will begin shipping around Fall 2025.

Pipeline reveals included Luke Skywalker, Ben Kenobi, Han Solo and Chewbacca.

Hasbro celebrates Transformers 40th anniversary

On Tuesday, Hasbro announced its plans to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Transformers.

"For 40 years, the TRANSFORMERS franchise has continuously adapted and redefined itself, culminating in one legacy across generations through innovative products, captivating entertainment, inspiring licensed partnerships, and engaging publishing projects."

Highlights include 40th anniversary toys from Hasbro, the Generation 1 (G1) soundtrack on vinyl and digital with additional music, trading cards from Dynamite, new products from Funko, Robosen, Super7 and more.

"Beloved since its inception in 1984, TRANSFORMERS has evolved from an innovative toy line into a powerhouse franchise embraced by millions of fans around the world,” said Alyse D’Antuono, Vice President, Global Franchise Strategy & Management, Action Brands, Hasbro. “The past four decades continuously delivered a ... Hasbro Pulse recently revealed the next Transformers HasLab of powerful proportions. Transformers: Legacy Robots in Disguise 2001 Omega Prime, which needs 10,000 backers by 15th March to go into production.

"When you have a franchise that goes 40 years in this business, it's pretty remarkable," said TRANSFORMERS voice-over talent and original voice of Megatron, Frank Welker, "to watch the franchise just build and build and build it is amazing to watch." Added fellow voice cast member and original voice of Optimus Prime, Peter Cullen, "I've always had the feeling this was going to go a long time."

As longtime readers know, I've been a fan of the Transformers since 1984. The war between the heroic Autobots and evil Decepticons captured my childhood imagination in the pages of Marvel UK's comic. One of my favourite Transformers, Shockwave, was never officially released in the UK. However, I had Galactic Man, which was licensed by Tandy from ToyCo. So, I'm looking forward to pre-ordering Shockwave based on an iconic Marvel Comics cover.

Get the Ghost

It's Tano Tuesday and the Ghost has yet to appear in the Ahsoka Star Wars live-action spin-off series on Disney+.

However, this could all change if the fan-favourite ship from Star Wars Rebels appears in episode 4. If not, Hasbro and Lucasfilm need to work more closely in the future as the Star Wars HasLab Black Series Rancor failed to be backed just before the creature's surprise appearance in The Book of Boba Fett.

The Star Wars The Vintage Collection The Ghost HasLab was quickly backed but soon lost momentum, and all the stretch goals, which mitigate the hefty £499.99 price tag, may not be reached.

Unless it reaches 17,000 backers, it looks unlikely Garazeb "Zeb" Orrelios will be included to crew the Ghost with General Hera Syndulla, Ezra Bridger and Kanan Jarrus. I can see fellow collectors and fans cancelling their orders at the last minute before the campaign ends on the 7th of September.

During the recent Fanstream for Ahsoka, Hasbro announced that Sabine Wren and Chopper would be released separately on cardbacks inspired by Wren’s Spectres mural from the Star Wars Rebels series finale if all the stretch goals were reached.

The Star Wars HasLab Razor Crest had a surge in backers on the final day. But it's worth remembering we were in a worldwide pandemic, and The Mandalorian was at its most popular during lockdown in 2020.

Whilst I backed the Star Wars HasLab The Ghost campaign early on, it's difficult to justify the investment during a cost of living crisis and the sheer size of the vehicle is prohibitively large for display. I don't want to leave the Ghost boxed in the garage. Where's that flight display stand, Hasbro?

HasLab Ghost gets backed on Hasbro Pulse

On Tuesday, the Star Wars The Vintage Collection The Ghost HasLab was successfully backed and will go into production after the deadline of 7th September on Hasbro Pulse.

This is great news for Star Wars fans (myself included) and collectors alike. After missing out on Star Wars HasLab Jabba's Sail Barge (The Khetanna) and Razor Crest, the Ghost, based on its live-action appearance in Ahsoka, would be an awesome addition to my collection that began with the R2-D2 action figure in 1978.



Due to the cost of living crisis, like many, I've drastically cut back on collecting this year. As I've written previously, £499.99 for the Ghost, the fan-favourite spaceship and home to those Star Wars Rebels, is a big outlay for a collectable that won't be released until late 2024. This sounds churlish, but the Ghost may be too big to display (a friend resold their HasLab Razor Crest due to its size). I appreciate this is a good problem to have.

Now that the goal of 8,000 backers has been reached, there will be upward momentum for the stretch goals featuring Ghost crew members Ezra Bridger, Kanan Jarrus and Garazeb "Zeb" Orrelios. This will mitigate the cost, which will only increase in the secondary market. Also, Ahsoka will be streaming on Disney+ during the crowdfund. This may lead to a fear of missing out (FOMO).

Hasbro Pulse Con 2023

San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) has concluded. This year's Christmas in July for geeks was filled with amazing announcements that have hurt collectors' wallets (mine included).

Hasbro celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2023 and announced the incredible Star Wars The Vintage Collection The Ghost HasLab, which has almost reached 8,000 backers and will surely go into production. This may be my first Star Wars HasLab after missing out on Jabba's Sail Barge (The Khetanna) and Razor Crest.

The Star Wars Retro Collection Star Wars: Return of the Jedi multipack soon sold out on Hasbro Pulse in the UK. I was able to pre-order the sought-after set as it includes Yak Face and Mon Mothma. Yak Face is one of the rarest vintage action figures released by Kenner. I passed on Yak Face and Sy Snootles and the Rebo Band in favour of Transformers back in the day. Where's a TARDIS when you need one, eh?

During SDCC, the fourth Hasbro Pulse Con was announced and I've got my eye on the G.I. Joe Classified Series Crimson Strike Team (Tomax, Xamot, and the Baroness) exclusive. Who doesn't want to see the Baroness in red, evoking the Red Shadows from Action Force?

Ghost announced as Star Wars HasLab

On Friday, the long-rumoured and highly-anticipated Star Wars The Vintage Collection The Ghost HasLab was officially announced by Hasbro at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC).

Fans and collectors hoping for the Ewok Village from Star Wars: Return of the Jedi may have to wait a little longer.

The Ghost as it appears in the Star Wars live-action spin-off series Ahsoka is coming in hot.



Hasbro needs a win after the previous Star Wars HasLab The Black Series Rancor and Reva (The Third Sister) Force FX Elite Lightsaber both failed to be backed. Ironically, the Rancor almost got funded after one of the creatures appeared in The Book of Boba Fett on Disney+.

Hasbro and Lucasfilm have learned lessons.

Like many fans, I thought the iconic Ghost spaceship from Star Wars Rebels was going to be £599.99 or more. However, it's £499.99 (still expensive) and will go into production if it reaches a minimum of 8,000 backers by the deadline of 7th September, which it will quickly achieve.

This HasLab wisely eschews early bird incentives that can be divisive. The base offering includes General Hera Syndulla and Phantom II with a mini bust of Chopper. The stretch goals are Ghost crew members Ezra Bridger, Kanan Jarrus and Garazeb "Zeb" Orrelios.

Sabine Wren will be sold separately as a deluxe figure. There will be fans aggrieved at this. However, Hasbro could announce bonus stretch goals if the crowdfunded project is highly successful like the Star Wars HasLab Razor Crest.

I've not owned a large-scale Star Wars vehicle since Kenner's Imperial Shuttle from Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. The Ghost is a gigantic collectable and will look amazing alongside The Mandalorian N-1 Starfighter. Like the N-1 Starfighter, the Ghost doesn't include electronic lights and sounds. This may be a deal-breaker for some fans.

We're in a cost of living crisis, but I've backed the latest Star Wars HasLab (my first) and will worry about clearing space for the Ghost later - it's not expected to ship until December 2024 - a lot can happen in 18 months.

Whilst The Vintage Collection Jabba the Hutt and Boba Fett's Throne Room sets (available in limited quantities during SDCC) are enticing after a 40-year wait, I've cancelled both my pre-orders on Hasbro Pulse to fund the Ghost.

Ghost teased as next Star Wars HasLab?

Is Hasbro teasing the Ghost for its next Star Wars HasLab on Hasbro Pulse? Many fans (myself included) think so after decoding a cryptic message in Aurebesh.

After the previous Star Wars HasLab The Black Series Rancor and Reva (The Third Sister) Force FX Elite Lightsaber both failed to be backed, Hasbro desperately needs a win with the Disney-owned property because in-house brands G.I.Joe and Transformers have been a runaway success.

The Ghost has become an iconic ship since its debut in Star Wars Rebels. It will appear next in the upcoming Star Wars live-action spin-off series Ahsoka on Disney+. Its August premiere follows San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) later this month. It's expected the next Star Wars HasLab will be announced at SDCC as there have been no further announcements since Star Wars Celebration.

Due to the cost of living crisis, like many, I've cut back on collecting this year. However, I have pre-ordered the Star Wars The Vintage Collection N-1 Starfighter and Speeder Bike from The Mandalorian on Hasbro Pulse. I already own the Speeder Bike from Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, but you can never have too many. And, as Transformers celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2024, I couldn't pass up pre-ordering Transformers Collaborative G.I. Joe x Transformers Soundwave Dreadnok Thunder Machine, Zartan & Zarana.

Cobra H.I.S.S. makes HasLab history

The 6-inch scale G.I. Joe Classified Series Cobra H.I.S.S. (High Speed Sentry) is the first HasLab campaign I've backed (since joining Hasbro Pulse Premium) because of nostalgia! Nostalgia I had for Star Wars The Black Series Rancor too. However, due to the lack of HasLab backers, The Black Series Rancor didn't go into production.

The record-breaking crowdfunded campaign was successfully backed within the first day.

The Cobra H.I.S.S. is £299.99GBP but comes with 4 action figures (including the misprinted 'Mickey Mouse' Cobra Commander) and awesome accessories. Early adopters have helped fellow G.I. Joe fans (myself included) by securing an exclusive early bird Cobra HISS Tactician action figure for free.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of Action Force (the international name for G.I. Joe). I collected Q Force, SAS Force, Space Force, Z Force and Red Shadows. Palitoy used the Cobra H.I.S.S. mould for the Red Shadows' Hyena + Red Jackal (Destro repaint).

During a family vacation to Italy, the futuristic design instantly caught my childhood imagination in the pages of the Battle Action Force summer special. The Hyena soon became a firm favourite from the toy line alongside Roboskull.

HasLab has knocked the Cobra H.I.S.S. out of the park as evidenced by the crowdfunded campaign smashing through all 4 stretch goals before it ends on 16th August. Some collectors think there may be further announcements during San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC).

That's no moon... it's War for Cybertron Unicron!

HasLab has announced its latest crowdfunded project Transformers: War for Cybertron Unicron.

Unicron (voiced by Orson Welles) made his Death Star-sized debut in Transformers: The Movie (1986) and the planet-eating menace has become an integral part of Transformers lore.



For many fans (myself included), Unicron was a dream toy in the eighties. Now, fans can own the ultimate incarnation for $575. This is as long as 8000 fans commit to the project by 31st August.

HasLab's previous crowdfunded project was Star Wars: The Vintage Collection Jabba's Sail Barge (The Khetanna) from Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.
