The Empire Strikes Back scribe returns to Star Wars

No director or cast have been announced for Disney's new Star Wars trilogy, but it appears that Lawrence Kasdan will be joining Michael Arndt (Toy Story 3) and Simon Kinberg for writing duties, if the Hollywood Reporter is to be believed.

Kasdan co-wrote The Empire Strikes Back, with the late Leigh Brackett, and his appointment should chime with fans of the franchise's darkest, and best, instalment.

Are you looking forward to the new trilogy or suffering from franchise fatigue?

  1. Well Lucas wrote a story, Brackett wrote a draft, then Lucas re-wrote, then Kasdan re-wrote again. Brackett sadly died in 1978. Her original draft is (supposedly) here: http://starwarz.com/starkiller/2010/05/the-empire-strikes-back-first-draft-by-leigh-brackett-transcript/
