Agatha All Along creates chaos this Halloween

Marvel Television dropped an official trailer for Agatha All Along at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event.

Read the official synopsis:

"In Marvel Studios’ “Agatha All Along,” the infamous Agatha Harkness finds herself down and out of power after a suspicious goth Teen helps break her free from a distorted spell. Her interest is piqued when he begs her to take him on the legendary Witches’ Road, a magical gauntlet of trials that, if survived, rewards a witch with what they’re missing. Together, Agatha and this mysterious Teen pull together a desperate coven, and set off down, down, down The Road…"

The upcoming WandaVision live-action spin-off series, starring Kathryn Hahn as the titular witch, promises spooky fun in time for Halloween.

"We’ve seen [Agatha] with all her bravado and crazy confidence," Hahn recently explained. "So much of Agatha is performance. It was exciting to get to the kernel under the sass and sarcasm and taking pleasure in other people’s pain. There’s something broken under that, big-time."

Marvel Television’s Agatha All Along premieres in the UK on 19th September, with the first two episodes, exclusively on Disney+.

The upcoming WandaVision live-action spin-off series, starring Kathryn Hahn as the titular witch, seemingly focuses on resurrecting Wanda Maximoff AKA Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) in time for Halloween.

Star Trek showrunner oversees Marvel's Vision

Variety exclusively reports Star Trek: Picard showrunner Terry Matalas has signed on to oversee Marvel Studios' second WandaVision spin-off series, Vision. Matalas helmed the third season of Star Trek: Picard to critical acclaim.

Paul Bettany will reprise the role of the fan-favourite synthezoid first introduced in Avengers: Age of Ultron. The upcoming Marvel Studios series is expected to follow White Vision's search for Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen).

Marvel Studios' Vision will premiere in 2026 on Disney+. Before that, Agatha All Along, WandaVision's first spin-off series, will premiere on 18th September on Disney+.

Agatha All Along

Marvel Studios brilliantly teased the upcoming WandaVision spin-off series starring Kathryn Hahn as the titular witch, Agatha Harkness, on Disney+.

Coven of Chaos, Agnes of Westview, Agatha: The Darkhold Diaries and Agatha: House of Harkness were all teased as titles on social media.

It was Agatha All Along. Well played, Marvel Studios!

WandaVision was the first Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) spin-off series on Disney+ with spellbinding performances from Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), Paul Bettany (Vision) and Hahn. Agatha All Along, the satirical theme song performed by Hahn herself, spawned countless memes and topped the iTunes charts during the pandemic.

Like X-Men '97, Agatha All Along will see Marvel Studios continue to pivot away from the notion that audiences must watch all the MCU things, which felt like too much homework.

“There was a lot of pressure post-‘Avengers: Endgame’ on the public to feel obligated to watch absolutely everything in order to watch anything,” says Brad Winderbaum, Marvel’s head of streaming, television and animation. “Part of the rebranding was a signal to the general audience that we’re creating a lot of options, and you can follow your tastes within this brand. Some will be more comedic, some will be more dramatic, some will be animated, some will be live-action. Marvel is more than just one thing — it is actually many different genres that just happened to coexist in a single narrative.”

Fellow Doctor Who fans will be amused to know Russell T Davies named Jack Harkness after Agatha. Of course, the beloved BBC sci-fi series is now on Disney+ outside the UK and Ireland.

Marvel Studios' Agatha All Along will premiere on 18th September on Disney+.

Doctor Strange's House of Horrors

20 years ago, director Sam Raimi's Spider-Man reinvigorated superhero movies and foreshadowed the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) beginning with Iron Man (2008).

Nick Smith, our resident US-based comic book guru, reviews Raimi's return.

Guest post by Nick Smith

One thing is constant across the multiverse: Doctor Stephen Strange and Doctor Christine Palmer love each other but they never seem to be able to make their relationship work. Kind of like Sam Raimi and Hollywood.

Raimi’s first horror movie, The Evil Dead, is revered as a genre classic despite – or because of - its low budget limitations. It has inspired many filmmakers, including myself. Raimi went on to direct several memorable films, including two Evil Dead sequels, a western (The Quick and the Dead), a slapstick comedy (Crimewave), a noir drama (A Simple Plan), a sports romance (For Love of the Game) and his own variation on a pulp superhero (Darkman).

His production company Renaissance Pictures gave us cult favourite TV shows such as Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess, who in turn paved the way for the heroines of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Alias and Kill Bill. But Raimi’s best known for his horror flicks and his Marvel movies, which include 2002’s phenomenally popular Spider-Man.

Unfortunately, Spider-Man 3 was deemed a disappointment when it arrived in 2007. Raimi went back to his evil roots with Drag Me to Hell. Imagine a cross between the two and you’ll have a mental taste of Raimi’s comeback epic, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness – the first film he’s directed in 9 years.

Marvel has been rolling out its movies and streaming shows at a conveyor belt pace, using the same basic parts to create products that are well made, good looking and heavily branded with the same formula – heroes face a monstrous menace, havoc is wreaked, heroes make a great sacrifice in the hopes of defeating the said menace.

Director Raimi plays it safe plotwise but the tone is dark and sometimes scary for little kiddies.

This movie’s real hook, though, is its promise to show us parallel worlds and some old favourite characters. While DC’s TV shows have been playing with the ‘infinite earth’ concept for several years with entertaining results, Marvel has had more recent success with the animated feature Into the Spiderverse. Since it earned over $375 million worldwide, a live-action trip across dimensions was inevitable.

Unfortunately, we’ve already seen spectacular cameos in Spiderverse and Spider-Man: No Way Home and some of the latter’s best moments were due to the nostalgia element of seeing characters from Raimi’s trilogy. So in a way, the director is overshadowed by the ghosts of his own previous work. How can he compete with his past self?

One way is to up the scariness. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness brings us darker versions of beloved heroes, demonic monsters and undead creatures.

Another way is to pack in a lot of fights, magical environments and eye-bending spectacle to keep us entertained through its 126 minutes running time. The action set pieces are drawn out, leaving little room for the actors to show their chops – although kudos is due to them for holding their own amongst all the visual chaos and brutally destructive injustice that seems like it’s ripped from a Zack Snyder DC film.

As Doctor Stephen Strange, Benedict Cumberbatch does get one chance to stretch his thespianism in a touching scene about Strange’s dead sister. But it’s gone in an Agamotto blink. Thankfully, the movie does have time to include some delicious references to Alan Moore’s universe numbering system (first mentioned in the comic book adventures of Captain Britain!); the kind of monsters that were prevalent in classic Marvel Comics like Strange Tales; and the What If? animated series on Disney+.

Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) loses the nuances she gained in her own Disney+ show, seemingly taking a step backwards from her character development to make her more formidable. We’re presented with a younger, more naïve version of America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez) than we’re used to in the comics.

Here she’s protected by Strange, who is obsessed with being in control and doing good deeds. He is willing to help one girl he’s never met before at all costs. However, he uses means that might not justify the ends – a risk Wanda takes as well. These challenges and Raimi’s dark side make the film gripping enough to make it more than just another Fin Fang Foom factory grind-out.

So come to the Multiverse to see the Steve Ditko-inspired alter planes, the themes of misused power and parenting, the star cameos and the indelible Raimi touch. Stay for the bittersweet love story between Doctor Strange and Christine (Rachel McAdams), the endearing performances by Benedict Wong and Xochitl Gomez and a magical, crotchety music-note battle that would make Walt Disney proud.

One cameo we do get is from Bruce Campbell, who has been a Raimi mainstay throughout his career.

At the time of writing the film has grossed half a billion dollars in its first weekend and it’s great to see the Evil Dead duo back on top. Now can we have Campbell playing Mysterio in a Raimi-directed Spider-Man 4?

Daredevil leaves Netflix for Disney+

Before WandaVision, there was Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Punisher and The Defenders exclusively on Netflix.

Personally, I really enjoyed Daredevil when it debuted back in 2015 and was quoted in publicity for a series that championed diversity. Marvel's live-action spin-off series on Netflix were all cancelled in 2018 and have now left the streaming service before moving to Disney+, beginning in Canada, later this month.

Unlike Marvel's Agent Carter and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. already available on Disney+ in the UK. Due to the graphic nature of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) spin-offs on Netflix, it's assumed they'll be available on Star on Disney+ outside the US.

Daredevil (Charlie Cox) most recently appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home and Kingpin (Vincent D'Onofrio) in Marvel Studios' Hawkeye.

In related news. Marvel Studios' Moon Knight will begin streaming on 30th March on Disney+.

Should these spin-offs be revived? What are your thoughts? Let me know in the comments below.

Doctor Strange shatters Super Bowl

To the disappointment of many Star Wars fans (myself included), Lucasfilm was a no-show during Super Bowl LVI. Perhaps the Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi trailer is being held back for Star Wars Day?

Stablemate Marvel Studios stepped up with new trailers for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Moon Knight. The former seemingly confirms a connection with Marvel Studios' What If...? and calls back to director Sam Raimi's The Evil Dead series.

The Thanos Blip continues to have consequences for the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

“The multiverse is a concept about which we know frighteningly little,” says Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch). “It was the only way… But I never meant for any of this to happen.”

Doctor Strange 2 follows mind-bending events in WandaVision, Loki, What If...? and Spider-Man: No Way Home by introducing Captain Carter (Hayley Atwell) and Professor X (Patrick Stewart). Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Doctor Strange battle evil doppelgängers as the fate of the multiverse lies in the balance.

Marvel Studios' Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is exclusively in cinemas on 6th May.

What Easter eggs did you spot in the Super Bowl trailer? Let me know in the comments below.

Embrace the chaos in Moon Knight

Marvel Studios dropped a trailer for Moon Knight during Monday night's NFL Super Wild Card matchup on ESPN and ABC.

Moon Knight, starring Oscar Isaac (Star Wars) as the titular cult superhero with more than a passing resemblance to DC Comics' Batman, looks like it's going to continue the excellence of Marvel Studios' WandaVision, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, What If...? and Hawkeye on Disney+.

“The series follows Steven Grant, a mild-mannered gift-shop employee, who becomes plagued with blackouts and memories of another life,” Marvel’s official synopsis says. “Steven discovers he has dissociative identity disorder and shares a body with mercenary Marc Spector. As Steven/Marc’s enemies converge upon them, they must navigate their complex identities while thrust into a deadly mystery among the powerful gods of Egypt.”

Moon Knight will begin streaming 30th March on Disney+.

Are you looking forward to Marvel Studios' Moon Knight on Disney+? What do you think about Oscar Isaac's British accent? Let me know in the comments below.

Hawkeye hits the mark

Marvel Studios' Hawkeye is a tonic and self-aware enough to take satirical shots (no pun intended) at itself and the wider Walt Disney empire when it debuted with a double-dose of heroic holiday cheer on Disney+ this Thanksgiving.

Hawkeye is ostensibly Avengers: A Christmas Carol and I'm here for it.

Hailee Steinfeld (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse) as Kate Bishop is inspired casting! The chemistry between her and Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye) is comedic dynamite.

Marvel Studios' WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, What If...? and now Hawkeye have been a delight amid an ongoing global pandemic. Furthermore, I will be renewing Disney+. Make Mine Marvel.

New episodes of Marvel Studios' Hawkeye premiere every Wednesday exclusively on Disney+.

Are you watching Marvel Studios' Hawkeye on Disney+? Let me know in the comments below.

Marvel's holiday gifts come with a bow

Marvel Studios has been crushing it in 2021 with its Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) spin-off series on Disney+. From WandaVision to What If...?, it's been unmissable character-driven viewing for all true believers (myself included).

On Monday, Disney+ dropped some early holiday cheer with an official teaser trailer for Marvel Studios' Hawkeye.

Read the official synopsis:

"Disney+ and Marvel Studios invite you on an unexpected holiday getaway, unwrapping a brand-new teaser trailer and poster today for “Hawkeye,” a new series set in post-blip New York City. Former Avenger Clint Barton has a seemingly simple mission: get back to his family for Christmas. Possible? Maybe with the help of Kate Bishop, a 22-year-old archer with dreams of becoming a Super Hero. The two are forced to work together when a presence from Barton’s past threatens to derail far more than the festive spirit."

Jeremy Renner reprises his role as Hawkeye, who teams up with another well-known archer from Marvel Comics, Kate Bishop, played by Oscar-nominee Hailee Steinfeld (Bumblebee).

Renner described Steinfeld's character to Entertainment Weekly (EW) by saying, “[Kate is] a 22-year-old kid and she’s a big Hawkeye fan. She has a wonderfully annoying and equally charming manner about her, because she’s such a fangirl of Hawkeye. The relationship grows from that, but the biggest problem for Clint is Kate Bishop and the onslaught of problems that she brings into his life.”

The trappings of the holiday season certainly allow for comparisons with MCU stablemate Iron Man 3 and Die Hard and Home Alone (both available on Star on Disney+). Hawkeye is rumoured to tie into Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Hawkeye debuts in time for Thanksgiving on Disney+ on 24th November.

Looking forward to Marvel Studios' Hawkeye? Let me know in the comments below.

WandaVision wows with Emmy nominations

The first season of Marvel Studios' Loki may have ended, but Disney+ is basking in the glow of Emmy nominations for its original Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and Star Wars spin-off series.

WandaVision has garnered 23 nominations including nods for Elizabeth Olsen (Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch), Paul Bettany (Vision) and Kathryn Hahn (Agatha Harkness). The live-action series was praised for how it dealt with loss and grief - themes amplified in the midst of a global pandemic.

“The grief journey was the tethering force,” showrunner Jac Schaeffer told The Times. “I aligned each episode to the stages of grief, so the story is told nonlinearly but the grief story is linear. We start in [Wanda's] denial and move all the way to acceptance.”

“We were using the superhero space to explore mental health, conflict resolution, self-acceptance. So many superhero stories right now deal with things like PTSD [post traumatic stress disorder] and crisis of identity. The terrain of our current mythology has to do with emotion and psychology. Something that Marvel is doing well is an examination of all the different motivations in a given conflict as opposed to good versus bad. We all, as consumers, have grown up a bit and know the world is far messier than that.”

Marvel Studios' stablemate The Falcon and the Winter Soldier garnered 5 nominations.

Lucasfilm's The Mandalorian received 24 nominations and is tied with Netflix's The Crown. Disney+ is a relative newcomer to the streaming space, quickly establishing itself as a prestige drama series powerhouse. To infinity and beyond...

Enter the multiverse in Marvel Studios' What If...?

Marvel Studios has released an official trailer for What If...?, its first-ever animated series for Disney+.

Marvel Studios' What If...? is an excellent primer for all things multiverse as hinted in WandaVision and soon Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

The impressive voice cast includes Hayley Atwell as Captain Peggy Carter, Josh Brolin as Thanos, Dominic Cooper as Howard Stark, David Dastmalchian as Kurt, Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, Frank Grillo as Brock Rumlow, Sean Gunn as Kraglin, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Djimon Hounsou as Korath the Pursuer, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Toby Jones as Arnim Zola, Michael B. Jordan as Killmonger, Neal McDonough as Dum Dum Dugan, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton, Michael Rooker as Yondu Udonta, Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, Sebastian Stan as James “Bucky” Barnes, Chris Sullivan as Taserface, Stanley Tucci as Abraham Erskine, and Taika Waititi as Korg.

It's especially poignant that fans (myself included) get to hear the late Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa.

Now that Loki Wednesdays are a thing, Marvel Studios' What If...? starts streaming 11th August with new episodes every Wednesday on Disney+.

In related news. Marvel Studios' Black Widow is now in cinemas and available exclusively on Disney+ with Premier Access.

Are you looking forward to Marvel Studios' What If...? on Disney+? Let me know in the comments below.

Loki Wednesday

Marvel Studios' live-action spin-offs WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier explored grief and loss in the wake of the Thanos Blip on Disney+.

Enter Loki, an alternate timeline variant of the God of Mischief, played by Tom Hiddleston, who sacrificed himself in Avengers: Infinity War. During the time heist in Avengers: Endgame, this younger Loki stole the Tesseract and escaped only to be captured by the Time Variance Authority (TVA), Marvel Comics' answer to Doctor Who's Time Lords...

The six-part spin-off series begins today exclusively on Disney+. New episodes will drop every Wednesday.

MTV Awards spellbound by WandaVision

Marvel Studios' WandaVision was a huge hit with critics and fans (myself included) earlier this year on Disney+. The live-action spin-off series deftly explored themes of grief and loss in the wake of Avengers: Endgame.

It was WandaVision's night at the 2021 MTV Movie & TV Awards, and here are the best moments with Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch) and Kathryn Hahn (Agatha Harkness).

Agatha All Along, the satirical theme song performed by Hahn herself, spawned countless memes and topped the iTunes charts.

Hahn cites a relative on her mother's side as an inspiration for fan-favourite Agatha. "My maternal grandmother," she said. "I heard her sing-song voice, definite [during] the ’50s and ’60s [eras]; everything ended on a question. She was in there."

What are your favourite moments from WandaVision? Let me know in the comments below.

See you at the Marvel movies!

I've been a fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) since its humble beginnings with Iron Man, which I watched with my dad back in 2008.

Marvel Studios has shared an emotive message spanning its movies past, present and future...

"The world may change and evolve. But the one thing that will never change, we’re all part of one big family."

"I love being with people,” the late Stan Lee can be heard saying in the voiceover. “It’s the most incredible thing in the world.” It's given further resonance during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and cinema closures.

Whilst this meant Black Widow has been delayed for over a year, WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier have entertained true believers (myself included) on Disney+.

Phase 4 movies include:

Black Widow -- July 9, 2021
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings -- September 3, 2021
Eternals -- November 5, 2021
Spider-Man: No Way Home -- December 17, 2021
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness -- March 25, 2022
Thor: Love and Thunder -- May 6, 2022
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever -- July 8, 2022
The Marvels -- November 11, 2022
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania -- February 17, 2023
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 -- May 5, 2023
Fantastic Four is teased

On the day cinemas reopen, as much as I miss seeing movies on the big screen with family and friends, it will be sometime before I set foot inside a multiplex for the first time since Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. However, Black Widow will be in cinemas and available exclusively on Disney+ with Premier Access on 9th July. Excelsior!

What are you looking forward to most? Let me know in the comments below.

Emilia Clarke joins Marvel’s Secret Invasion

Variety exclusively reports Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones, Solo: A Star Wars Story) has joined Marvel Studios' Secret Invasion series starring Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Kingsley Ben-Adir and Olivia Colman.

The upcoming Disney+ series is shrouded in secrecy but is said to follow a group of shape-shifting aliens, Skrulls, who have been infiltrating Earth for decades. The Skrulls were first introduced in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) in Captain Marvel and most recently appeared in WandaVision.

Who do you think Emilia Clarke will play in Secret Invasion? Let me know in the comments below.

Captain America's shattered legacy

Spoilers for Marvel Studios' The Falcon and the Winter Soldier streaming on Disney+. If you haven't caught up with, or started watching, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and don't want to find out what's going on, please look away from the screen now.

WandaVision, with its mystery box storytelling and multiverse speculation amped to the nth degree by a certain cameo, was water-cooler television. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier initially garnered a slightly more muted response on social media as it premiered the same week as Zack Snyder's Justice League on HBO Max. However, the Disney+ series serves as a compelling sequel to Captain America: Civil War.

The spin-off series deftly explores Sam Wilson's (Anthony Mackie) reluctance to adopt Captain America's iconic shield and Bucky Barnes' (Sebastian Stan) PTSD as the infamous Winter Soldier now freed of Zemo's (Daniel Brühl) brainwashing.

However, John Walker’s (Wyatt Russell) Captain America has disrupted the status quo and is a superhero with the moral compass of The Boys on Amazon Prime. Blood was spilt following the death of Walker's right-hand man Lemar Hoskins AKA Battlestar (Clé Bennett), which is something Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) would never have countenanced.

Like WandaVision, grief and loss haunt our intrepid band of heroes in the wake of the cataclysmic Thanos Blip, and I welcome these recurring themes as they're eminently relatable. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has avoided the temptation of a simple reset for Phase 4 following the decade-spanning Infinity Saga.

Marvel Studios has shared a mid-season sneak peek teasing an epic showdown between Sam Wilson, Bucky Barnes and Captain America - not my Captain America.

New episodes of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier premiere every Friday exclusively on Disney+.

What are your The Falcon and the Winter Soldier theories? Let me know in the comments below.

Black Widow in cinemas and on Disney+

Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) would have begun last May with Black Widow, which was delayed multiple times over the past year due to the global pandemic.

So, WandaVision began Phase 4, followed by The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Loki on Disney+.

Disney couldn't delay the Marvel Studios' movie indefinitely due to the interconnected storylines and merchandise in stores.

Many fans (myself included) argued Black Widow could be simultaneously released in cinemas (when it's safe to reopen) and on Disney+ with Premier Access. This was successfully trialled with the live-action adaptation of Mulan last September.

Following the recent release of Raya and the Last Dragon, The Walt Disney Company has confirmed Black Widow, starring Scarlett Johansson as the titular character, will premiere day and date in cinemas and on Disney+ with Premier Access.

“By leveraging a flexible distribution strategy in a dynamic marketplace that is beginning to recover from the global pandemic, we will continue to employ the best options to deliver The Walt Disney Company’s unparalleled storytelling to fans and families around the world,” said Kareem Daniel, the chairman of Disney Media and Entertainment distribution.

In related news. Today is the first anniversary of Disney+ launching in the UK. I've renewed an annual subscription for another year.

Black Widow will be in cinemas and available exclusively on Disney+ with Premier Access on 9th July.

Are you looking forward to Black Widow? Let me know in the comments below.

Start your countdown to Loki

Marvel Studios' WandaVision may have concluded, and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier just begun on Disney+. However, key art for the next spin-off series, Loki, has been released.

Golden Globe winner Tom Hiddleston returns as the fan-favourite titular God of Mischief, picking up where Avengers: Endgame left off as Loki successfully steals the Tesseract during a time heist. Previously, Loki was killed by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War. So, who knows what mayhem will follow.

The six-part spin-off series begins June 11th exclusively on Disney+.

Are you looking forward to Loki? Let me know in the comments below.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier begins Friday

Marvel Studios' The Falcon and the Winter Soldier premieres this Friday on Disney+. The House of Mouse has released a new trailer to celebrate.

The official synopsis for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier:

"After being handed the mantle of Captain America at the end of Avengers: Endgame, Sam Wilson teams up with Bucky Barnes in a worldwide adventure that puts their abilities to the test as they fight the anarchist group the Flag-Smashers."

“I was really surprised and affected by the idea of possibly getting the shield and becoming Captain America," Anthony Mackie (Sam Wilson) told Variety in a recent interview. "I’ve been in this business a long time, and I did it the way they said you’re supposed to do it," he says of his own career path. "I didn’t go to L.A. and say, ‘Make me famous.’ I went to theater school, did Off Broadway, did indie movies and worked my way through the ranks. It took a long time for this shit to manifest itself the way it has, and I’m extremely happy about that."

The action-packed six-part spin-off series should assuage WandaVision withdrawals until Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness or at least until my Marvel Legends WandaVision Scarlet Witch and White Vision action figures arrive from Hasbro Pulse.

Are you looking forward to The Falcon and the Winter Soldier on Friday? Let me know in the comments below.
